Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist demonstrates sound knowledge of the principles and applications of occupational therapy procedures and modalities for evaluation and treatment of the pediatric population. Creates a work environment that is goal directed, culturally and age specific.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Evaluates patients referred for services using independent, professional judgement to determine the appropriate plan of care based upon the patient’s disability, age and psychosocial needs prohibiting or delaying development in functional areas.
• Develops and implements effective treatment program; treats patients in accordance with professional standards of care and practice based upon the patient’s disability, age and psychosocial needs.
• Provides patient/family/caregiver education based upon the patient’s disability, developmental delays, age and psychosocial needs.
• Prepares professional documentation in a timely manner.
• Exhibits professional communication and management skills.
• Supervises and instructs rehabilitation techs as necessary.
Education:
Must be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy school
Experience:
One or more years of clinical experience is preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Licensed in Kentucky for Occupational Therapy and a valid Kentucky driver’s license.
